Job Description

Job Summary:



We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Trailer Technician to join our team! In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for performing trailer repairs and maintenance, overseeing shop operations, training technicians, and ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient workflows.







Key Responsibilities:




  • Perform trailer inspections, maintenance, and repairs (brakes, tires, electrical, ABS, welding, etc.)

  • Supervise and assign work to trailer technicians

  • Ensure high quality standards and efficiency are met in shop operations

  • Provide training and mentorship to new and current technicians

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and yard

  • Communicate effectively with team members across shifts

  • Complete repair orders and verify technician time and parts

  • Perform road service and occasional vehicle repairs

  • Ensure all safety procedures and company policies are followed







Qualifications:




  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred

  • Proven experience in trailer repair and shop supervision

  • Strong welding and fabrication skills (steel and aluminum)

  • Familiarity with ABS, electrical systems, and DOT/FHWA inspections

  • Valid driver's license required; forklift certification a plus

  • Must own a set of standard and metric hand/air tools

  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends as needed







Physical Requirements:




  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally

  • Stand, bend, twist, squat, and climb throughout the workday

  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and power tools

  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
