Job description
The Senior Process Engineer – Semi Conductor is responsible for process engineering design and technical execution for a new semiconductor facility in Arizona, with a primary focus on UPW, WWTP, and ZLD systems. This role executes process design from concept through construction, supports procurement and start-up activities, and works closely with engineering disciplines, vendors, and construction teams. Strong experience in water/wastewater and semiconductor utilities and EPC project execution is required. The Senior Process Engineer reports to the Process Engineering Manager and provides high-level technical expertise while supporting overall project delivery.Job requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 8 years' experience in process engineering, within EPC or industrial projects
- Water/wastewater and semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.
- Expertise in water treatment technologies and chemical processes.
- Experience supporting commissioning activities
Job responsibilities
Process Design & Engineering -Develop and execute process design for a new build semiconductor plant for the UPW, WWTP and ZLD packages.
Develop and review:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping &Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Mass balances
- Equipment lists and data sheets
- Hydraulic and process calculations
Ensure process designs comply with:
- Owner & Contract specifications
- Applicable US codes and regulations
EPC Project Execution
- Interface with mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil disciplines to ensure integrated design
- Support vendor technical evaluations, bid reviews, and equipment selection
- Provide technical input during procurement and fabrication phases, and FAT phases
- Review vendor documents and drawings for compliance
- Support constructability reviews, installation sequencing, and field engineering works
- Participate in HAZOP and safety reviews
Construction & Commissioning (Startup) Support
Provide engineering support during construction, including:
- RFIs and field change evaluations
- Redline and as-built documentation support
- Support system turnover, commissioning, and start-up activities
- Troubleshoot process and system issues during ramp-up
Technical Leadership
- Act as a senior technical resource for the UPW, WWTP and ZLD systems
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers
- Review engineering deliverables for quality and compliance
- Coordinate with client engineering teams and fab operations stakeholders
- Co-operate with senior engineers for Mechanical, Electrical and I&C disciplines and report to the Process Engineering Manager
Quality: PFD/P&ID accuracy, mass balance accuracy, datasheet compliance
Schedule: Deliverable on-time rate, review turnaround time
Compliance: Regulatory adherence, QMS adherence
Technical Design Performance: First-pass acceptance, sizing accuracy, re-engineering limitation.
Cost & VE: CAPEX/OPEX accuracy, VE savings
Constructability: Fabrication rework prevention, vendor query closure
Collaboration: Coordination score, stakeholder satisfaction
Documentation: On time delivery.
