Responsibilities

The Collections Assistant Manager coordinates daily operations and leads a team of collections associates responsible for effective collection of negative shares, delinquent loans, credit cards, and specialized processes including repossessions, motor vehicle sales, foreclosure, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, credit reporting and credit disputes. Given the complexity, risk, legal and regulatory compliance demands the Collections Assistant Manager ensures proper collection efforts are followed in an attempt to minimize credit union losses while complying with all applicable regulations and credit union policies. A significant degree of creativity, data analysis,  continuous regulatory knowledge and problem-solving skills are required to effectively manage collection issues.
 
In addition to oversight,  this role performs a variety of critical and complex collections tasks and specialized processes, demonstrates teamwork, promotes collaboration, prepares, and analyzes monthly statistics, conducts performance analysis for each team member to support optimal productivity, quality, and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for maintaining qualified staffing, instructing the team on effective collection techniques and processes, provides guidance with the daily workflow, provides training and support for current and new associates, and performs quality control reviews of the collection associates' interactions.

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial documents, policies, procedures and regulations
• Courtesy and tact are essential elements to the job

• Familiarity with PCs and applicable software

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
• Ability to sit for extended time periods
• Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
• Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. The minimum salary for this position is:
