Job Description:
We are seeking a full time Upper School Academic Intervention LEAP Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Hyde Park Schools looks for educators who are passionate about uniquely engaging students, who connect strongly with them and their families, and who want to be part of a team that is continually seeking to strengthen and encourage each other. This LEAP teacher may involve instruction in executive function skills, Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Our teachers demonstrate a strong faith and to use their professional skills as educators to incorporate a biblical worldview through their classroom instruction in order to encourage students to reach their God-given potential. Highly qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in education or Biblical Studies. A Texas state issued teacher certification and prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. Salary is based on a scale and is commensurate with your experience.
Requirements
- Maximize strong interpersonal competency and build trust and rapport with students, families and teachers
- Work collaboratively with the LEAP department and other LEAP classroom teachers to provide high quality support for students, teachers and families
- Plan and teach executive function skills curriculum related to time management, organization, note taking, communication and self-advocacy skills
- Provide academic intervention to reinforce academic classroom lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs
- Teach academic strategies to help students make connections to classroom learning and become more self-aware learners who know when to ask for help and what strategies best complement their learning style
- Work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with teachers, while you advocate for students in the classrooms, in grade level planning meetings, and throughout the school
- Attend Individual Accommodation meetings for LEAP students once a year with parents
- Guide students in their social emotional development with a focus on developing self-management, making good choices, and setting well-defined classroom and schoolwide expectations
- Be familiar with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and other various learning differences and how those differences can impact academic performance and social emotional health
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to incorporate differentiated instruction into classroom learning opportunities with a focus on each child’s unique learning style and development
- Provide support for parents in their student’s educational journey by fostering healthy parent communication through email correspondence, phone calls and parent/teacher conferences as needed
