Job Description

Instructional Technology Facilitator


 


Purpose: 


The Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) plays a pivotal role in supporting the integration of technology and digital literacy resources within the educational framework of our district. This position is designed to create a proactive management of technology-related issues, ensuring smooth operation of digital initiatives and effective utilization of digital media resources. As a teacher position, the TMF will also be engaged in instructional activities, providing guidance and support to students and faculty.


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, library science, or a related field.

  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in the use and troubleshooting of iPads and other educational technology tools.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to balance diverse responsibilities effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Passion for promoting media literacy and technology integration in education.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to iPads and other educational technology tools.

  • Proficiency in the use of digital resources, software applications, and educational technology platforms.

  • Ability to promote media literacy and information literacy skills among students and staff.

  • Understanding of instructional strategies and pedagogical approaches for integrating technology into teaching and learning.

  • Ability to provide training and support to educators in the effective use of technology tools and digital media resources.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders.

  • Capacity to serve as a liaison between the school community and district-level technology teams, advocating for the needs of the school.


Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing technology-related issues within the schools, including troubleshooting and resolving problems with iPads and software applications.

  • Collaborate with district-level IT support to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates for technology equipment and software to ensure optimal performance.

  • Manage information technology request for curricular and digital resources

  • Develop and implement initiatives to promote digital literacy skills among students, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate digital resources into curriculum planning and instructional activities.

  • Evaluate and vet digital resources, including apps, websites, and online tools, to ensure alignment with district goals, curriculum standards, and privacy regulations.

  • Assist teachers in selecting appropriate media resources and technology tools to support teaching objectives and student learning outcomes.

  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement technology initiatives aligned with district goals and objectives.

  • Secondary - Facilitate a dedicated help desk with students to provide assistance to teachers, students, and school staff

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in educational technology and media literacy.


 


Term of Employment: 10 Months


Salary Schedule: State Teacher Salary Scale
