The Position: Reporting to the Provincial Project Manager, this role will act as the expert resource for the IT Project Team. This individual will be the final stop in the path of escalations and will be the “be-all” and “end-all” regarding different technologies and troubleshooting. Working closely with the Project Manager, this individual will be an active participant in project scope and will receive scheduled escalations and provide client support while maintaining system documentation for grand scope projects.
This individual will embody a high sense of urgency as they adapt to changing environments and deliver a wow experience to end users during each visit. This individual will also be patient and level-headed to ensure team members are comfortable and confident in discussing project matters. Not only will this individual act as the expert resource in technical skills but will showcase expert interpersonal skills as well. This individual will be highly trusted when faced with difficult tasks and will carry out these difficult situations with tact.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior resource to complete escalated tickets from other team members.
- Create and innovate new technical methods of deploying solutions.
- Sound knowledge in different technologies such as PowerShell and other associated scripting language
- Provide clear documentation and proactively monitor all devices and users during Project delivery to ensure client expectations are not just met, they're exceeded.
- Proactively assist with training of existing and new technicians and on solutions to mentor the team and reduce escalations over time.
- Other related tasks related to larger and more complex projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-years IT help desk/support experience
- Minimum 3-years IT infrastructure projects
- Completion of multiple professionally recognized certifications (PowerShell, Server, Networking, AWS, Azure, SAP, Cloud, Scripting, Office 365, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of RDS Environments; The ability to set up a Microsoft RDS farm.
- Strong Firewall configuration experience.
- VLAN / QoS experience
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; Office 365 support experience
- Advanced trouble shooting ability and analysis.
- Ability to take a technical lead with projects.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies
- Experience managing and supporting 3rd party cloud services.
- Desire to help grow and mentor the team.
- A valid driver’s license.
