The Position:

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter, for a long-term assignment, with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce.

The carpenter must be able to study blueprints, sketches or building plans to ascertain the different types of materials required for the job such as lumber, fiberboard, sonotube, etc; utilizes rule/tape, framing square to prepare layouts; utilizes plumb bob and level to verify trueness of structures that are fabricated; must be able to construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.

 This position assists and works under the close supervision of skilled craftsmen in the performance of their duties by completing supportive type activities as directed.

Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Design, construct, erect, install and repair structures and other items of wood, plywood, and wallboards with the use of electric power tools
  • Must have carpentry experience and experience working on Industrial Construction Projects 
  • Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction
  • Must be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark and cut equipment and materials to specification
  • Operate various hand and power tools
  • Lubricate and maintain carpenter equipment
  • Build and set forms, use level instrument, finish carpentry work, read tape/ruler
  • Estimate material requirements and tools or equipment needed to perform job
  • Erect or dismantle structures, repair or refinish walls or structures
  • Must be able to understand all safety hazards related to the work 
  • Must be able and willing to follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain general housekeeping in or around working area.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as needed or instructed.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Knowledge of the applicable safety rules, hazard recognition, and fire protection.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates and supervision.
  • Knowledge of the client and company policies.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to meet cut score on the National Center for Construction Education and Research - NCCER Skill Assessment
  • Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.
  • Minimum 5 years craft-specific experience working as a Carpenter on an industrial construction project
  • Knowledgeable in communication and applicable OSHA rules and regulations
