About the Department

Primarily responsible for the construction and maintenance of sets for theatrical performances.

Position Duties

• Directly responsible to the Technical Director, who is responsible to the Theater Production Manager.
• Work all theatrical scenic load-ins and strikes.
• Help in the construction, installation, and any operational adjustments of all scenery and props for Cain Park theaters.
• Assist with the inventory, maintenance, and repair all Park power and hand tools.
• Evaluate working drawings as necessary for construction procedures.
• Attend all technical and dress rehearsals as required by the Technical Director and/or Production Manager.
• Work with the Scenic Designer towards the realization of the designs.
• Act as run crew for the production.
• Maintain high safety levels at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic carpentry skills required
• Previous scence shop experience preferred
