    Position Title:Social Services Coordinator
    Reports to:Director of Student Services
    Primary Function: Performs and coordinates district-wide social services programs that remove barriers to student success, including attendance, mental health, crisis response, and family support services. Serves as the primary liaison between home, school, and community agencies and provides leadership and oversight of social services operations.
    Requirements:
    Educational Level: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. 5 years' Experience working in social work, DFACS or related
    Proficiency Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks; computer proficiency; organizational and interpersonal skills; social work/case management experience preferred.
    Personal Skills: Professional demeanor, leadership ability, cooperative attitude, and ability to work independently.
    Salary: GA Classified Salary Schedule A23, responsibility supplement, 210 days. Steps on the classified salary schedule are awarded based on verifiable full-time experience, as documented on employer letterhead, which includes dates of employment, job title, and duties.     GENERAL
    1.Maintains prompt and regular attendance
    2.Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to district, state, and federal policies.
    3.Communicates effectively with staff, students, families, and community partners.
    4.Performs duties independently and demonstrates initiative in problem-solving.
    5.Provides leadership and direction for social service functions across the district.
    6.Performs and coordinates truancy prevention strategies.
    7.Collaborates with law enforcement, DFCS, and the court system to enforce attendance laws.
    8.Performs casework services for students and families related to attendance concerns.
    9.Initiates and processes referrals to appropriate agencies (juvenile justice, DFCS, courts).
    10.Conducts home visits to support student attendance and engagement.
    11.Coordinates and provides community referrals/resources for families (food, housing, medical, mental health, etc.).
    12.Serves as primary liaison between home, school, and community agencies.
    13.Performs interventions to address enrollment and transfer barriers.
    14.Identifies and addresses social, economic, and environmental factors impacting student success.
    15.Facilitates communication between parents and school staff to improve student outcomes.
    16.Performs crisis intervention services and supports district crisis response efforts.
    17.Serves as a member and coordinator of the district crisis team when needed.
    18.Coordinates mental health support services and external partnerships.
    19.Serves as McKinney-Vento Liaison, ensuring identification, enrollment, and access to services.
    20.Serves as Foster Care Liaison, coordinating enrollment, transportation, and services.
    21.Oversees Hospital Homebound Services, including coordination with schools, parents, and medical providers.
    22.Monitors compliance areas such as SLDS (homeschool/DOIs) and related reporting requirements.
    23.Serves on multidisciplinary teams addressing student needs.
    24.Leads and participates in community partnerships and advisory groups.
    25.Coordinates district initiatives (Teen Maze, Red Ribbon Week, community collaborations, etc.).
    26.Builds and maintains partnerships with external agencies to support students and families.
    27.Supervises and provides direction to Social Services Assistant(s) or support staff.
    28.Assigns and monitors caseloads, duties, and performance expectations.
    29.Provides training, guidance, and support to assigned staff.
    30.Assists with hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of social services personnel.
    31.Maintains accurate documentation and case records.
    32.Travels to homes, schools, and agencies as needed.
    33.Works flexible hours when necessary.
    34.Demonstrates knowledge of laws, policies, and safety procedures related to investigations and fieldwork.
    35.Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
