Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based | Full-Time | Bangor, ME | 2026–2027 School Year

Boothby Therapy Services is hiring a School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in Belfast, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time occupational therapy position in a collaborative educational / special education setting.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based occupational therapy services to middle school students
  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and services
  • Deliver direct therapy services (individual and small group)
  • Support students with:
    • Fine motor skills and handwriting
    • Sensory processing and sensory integration
    • Executive functioning and organization
    • Activities of daily living (ADLs) and school participation
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and physical therapists (PTs)
  • Recommend and implement classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance records
  • Communicate with families and caregivers regarding student progress

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Active Maine Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility)
  • Interest or experience in pediatrics, school-based therapy, or special education preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
