    Agriculture Science Teacher (Ag Mech/Ag Fabrication/Shop)

    Primary Purpose:

    Brazos ISD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Agriculture Science Teacher who is committed to providing an exceptional learning experience for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agricultural mechanics/fabrication, a love for teaching, and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging students in all aspects of the three-circle model of Agriculture Education.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Agricultural Science, Education, or a related experience in the Agriculture field.
    • Teaching certification or relevant experience in agricultural education. Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.
    • Strong understanding of agricultural concepts, practices, and industry trends.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative lesson plans incorporating hands-on learning experiences.
    • Experience with FFA Career Development Events, Leadership Development Events, and a demonstrable passion for fostering leadership qualities in students through FFA involvement.
    • Proof of or willingness to obtain a Commercial Driving License

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Instructional Strategies

    1. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
    2. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and innovative curriculum plans that align with agricultural science standards, fostering a deep understanding of agriculture among students.
    3. Classroom Instruction: Conduct dynamic and interactive lessons that incorporate hands-on experiences, demonstrations, and hands on activities to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of agricultural concepts.
    4. Student Engagement: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and exploration in the field of agriculture.
    5. After-Hours Engagement: Demonstrate a commitment to student success by being available after hours for additional academic support, as well as providing practice opportunities for extracurricular Texas FFA events (CDE's, LDE's, SDE's). Candidate must also be willing to aide in making Supervised Agriculture Experience project visits off campus.
    6. FFA Engagement: Serve as a Brazos FFA Advisor. Coordinate FFA activities by coaching competitive LDE, SDE and CDE teams. Assist students with record keeping utilizing the AET platform. Assist students with their Supervised Agricultural Experience including Livestock projects. Participate in planning and coordinating FFA meetings and end of year banquet. Assist in planning and execution of annual fundraiser.
    7. Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate agricultural concepts across disciplines and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching strategies.

    Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the safety and maintenance of all equipment, tools, and outdoor learning spaces used in agricultural instruction.
