The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
Maintain the Ground Support Equipment and their sub-systems to ensure Full Mission Capability. Maintain, verify, and monitor the maintenance of the Ground Support Equipment GSE in accordance with the maintenance manuals and INLA standards. Maintain the quality control, and safety programs at the floor level in support of assigned GSE. Responsible for managing, issuing, receiving, and maintaining tools and equipment used in aircraft maintenance operations. This position is in Lima, Peru.
Key Responsibility:
- Responsible for Maintenance and Operations of GSE Equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on aviation ground support vehicles, equipment and parts, and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul all types of diesel and gasoline engines.
- Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Perform OJT on the job training, assist, and advise the host nation GSE mechanic in all daily maintenance activities.
- Ensure host nation mechanic complies with maintenance in accordance with the maintenance manual and policies.
- Train, advise, and assist the host nation mechanic to inspect and troubleshoot malfunction on ground support equipment.
- Ensure compliance with tool control, FOD prevention, and housekeeping policies.
- Ensure the GSE parts, repair kits, tools, and equipment are on hand before performing any maintenance task.
- Perform material requests as required for GSE maintenance.
- Responsible for the aviation tool room. Issue and receive tools, equipment, and materials to authorized personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory using forms or manual logs IAW SOP.
- Inspect tools for damage, wear, or defect.
- Ensure all tools are properly cleaned, organized, and stored in designated locations.
- Monitor tool calibration schedules and coordinate calibration process.
- Conduct routine inventory checks and audits to ensure accountability.
- Responsible for the reception, storage, and control of hazardous materials.
- Assist with maintenance tasks on fixed-wing aircraft B1900.
- Perform tasks related to the flight operations of fixed-wing aircraft.
- Perform passenger control tasks, such as checking passengers in and out, in Group 8.
- Assist with and or coordinate the cargo loading and unloading of the aircraft.
- Maintain ongoing communication and or coordination with the Logistics, Maintenance, Safety, Quality Control, and Operations departments Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working in aviation programs and or minimum of one 1 year of experience working with the U.S. Government aviation program.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Demonstrated successful judgment and decision-making. considering the relative costs, benefits, and drawbacks of potential courses of action to choose the most appropriate recommendation.
- Works effectively as part of a team while communicating information and ideas orally so others will understand.
- Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Communicating effectively in writing reports.
- Possess good communication skills, capable to train, be adaptable, diversified, and able to solve problems as a team.
- Must have experience working on ground support equipment, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems, and associated systems to properly complete all work tasks.
- Must have experience working with Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures.
Must have experience working with blueprint drawings, diagram specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other technical date.
Preferred
- 5 years of experience working on DoD or DoS aviation programs, Field Team Maintenance concept and its application to U.S. Military or State Dept maintenance, modification, and repair of ground support equipment.
- 1 year of professional experience in INL programs, U.S. Embassy environments.
