Job Description

Southern New Hampshire University is a team of innovators. World changers. Individuals who believe in progress with purpose. Since 1932, our people-centered strategy has defined us — and helped us grow a team that now serves over 180,000 learners worldwide.

Our mission to transform lives is made possible by talented people who bring diverse industry experience, backgrounds and skills to the university. And today, we're ready to expand our reach. All we need is you.

The opportunity

Orientation Leaders are the welcoming committee, campus tour pros, answer-every-question humans, and the calm-in-the-chaos energy that new students and families need. You’ll help create a first impression that feels exciting, organized, and genuinely supportive.

During Summer Orientation in June and August, you’ll welcome students, families, and supporters, lead conversations and activities, help guests navigate campus, and build connections from the moment they arrive. This role is high-energy, fast-paced, and all about helping new students feel confident and ready to start at SNHU. Flexibility is important, as program days may include early mornings, evenings, and long days.

Dates

Summer Orientation Leaders must be available for the full program: June 14–18 and optionally, August 11. Full participation in all trainings and Orientation sessions is required.

Compensation & Benefits

On-campus housing is provided during Summer Orientation and most meals are included. Beyond that, you’ll build leadership and public speaking skills, gain real-world experience in teamwork and communication, grow your network across campus, and add meaningful experience to your resume.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Welcome and support new students, families, and supporters throughout Orientation
  • Lead small group conversations, icebreakers, and Q&A sessions
  • Help run activities and keep events organized and engaging
  • Guide participants across campus and connect them to resources
  • Be a go-to person for questions, support, and positive energy
  • Attend and actively participate in all trainings and program sessions

Expectations & Qualifications

  • Must be an enrolled SNHU student
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every shift
  • Be reliable, on time, and ready to fully participate
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Serve as a role model and represent SNHU with professionalism and authenticity
  • Committed to supporting new students and creating an inclusive, welcoming community
  • Must wear provided Orientation attire
  • Open to both College Paid and Work Study students

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
