Position Description
| Our Dispatchers performs and maintains clear, effective, and professional radio communications with police officers, sheriff’s deputies, fire department, and other emergency and non-emergency personnel at all times with the highest concern for officer and citizen safety. As a Dispatcher, the primary duties entails entering dispatch calls into the in-house computer, keeping track of times, and maintaining a running log of activities in each case. |

Application Special InstructionsAll applicants will be required to complete a typing test at the Workforce center. The Workforce Center is located at 1012 W 6th St A, Junction City, KS 66441. Please give them a call to find out more information on how to get set up for a typing test. Results of the typing test will be required to be submitted before an offer of employment can be made. The Workforce Center will accept walk-ins but it may be best for you to set up an appointment. You can reach them at (785) 762-8870. Please note that due to COVID 19 restrictions, hours of operation may have changed.
In addition to your required typing test, it is highly recommended applicants also partake in getting their Work Ready certificate from the Workforce center. Depending on your results, you may get a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum Certificate. The Workforce Center offers a prep class for this test known as Career Ready 101. This test measures 3 areas of focus: Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Math skills. Testing may take up to 3 hours. The Workforce center offers this testing through appointment only.
