Job Description

Interstate Towing is seeking an experienced and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our growing fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty towing and recovery vehicles. This is a full-time position for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tow trucks, tractors, trailers, and support vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air system issues
  • Service diesel and gasoline engines
  • Perform brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs when needed
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Keep shop and work areas clean and safe

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a fleet, diesel, or heavy-duty mechanic preferred
  • Experience working on heavy-duty trucks or towing equipment a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspections
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • Day shift (with occasional on-call or overtime as needed)
