JOB SUMMARY
The Lift Maintenance team at Crystal Mountain is the backbone of the operation. The primary responsibility of the team is to ensure the safe, efficient and clean operation of all ski lifts, conveyors and the Mt. Rainier Gondola. As a Lift Maintenance Laborer, one may be called on to perform any number of duties across the mountain throughout the assigned shift. The Laborer position is an entry-level role, ideal for someone interested in learning more about ski lift operations and maintenance. This position typically runs from May to October and has an opportunity to grow into year-round or winter seasonal positions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES-
Clean, paint, and organize lift components, machinery, and work areas
Assist mechanics with inspections, part replacements, and lift system maintenance
Transport tools, parts, and materials to and from work sites
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform basic physical labor tasks, including lifting and climbing
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Run lifts for maintenance
Safely operate motor vehicles on rough, mountainous terrain
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS-
Ability to work in a team environment
Lift operations or other ski area experience preferred
Mechanically inclined
Interested in learning about hydraulic, low voltage electrical, and various mechanical systems used in ski lifts
At least 18 years of age
Valid Driver’s License – subject to MVR background checks
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS-
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on a regular basis.
Able to work in variable mountain weather conditions
Will be working with lubricant\cleaning agents and other chemicals
