General Summary

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT, leading the analysis, design, and delivery of complex system solutions. This role owns end-to-end requirements for enterprise applications—primarily Deltek Costpoint and Cognos—ensuring solutions support financial, HR, project, and compliance-driven business processes.  The position provides subject-matter expertise, drives process improvements, supports audit and regulatory requirements, and leads cross-functional collaboration between IT and Finance, Accounting, Project Management, HR, and external partners.

Work Location

This position is based in the Chicagoland area at GTI Energy Headquarters. GTI Energy offers a hybrid/core workweek model, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and an on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday.

 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as functional support for Deltek Costpoint and Cognos, owning complex business systems analysis, configuration guidance, and reporting solutions
  • Lead end-to-end requirements for cross-functional initiatives, from discovery and design through UAT and production support
  • Design, enhance, and govern Cognos reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, reconciliation, and alignment with Costpoint
  • Analyze complex financial and project data across ERP and reporting platforms to support business decisions
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Contracts, Project Management and IT to drive system improvements and data transparency
  • Lead UAT strategy and execution for system changes, upgrades, and reporting enhancements
  • Ensure solutions meet compliance, audit, and data governance requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving business outcomes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Deep functional expertise in Deltek Costpoint, including cross-module data flows (Projects, GL, Billing, AP/AR, Time & Expense)
  • Advanced experience with Cognos reporting, including report design, dashboards, data modeling, and complex data validation
  • Strong proficiency with business, analytical, and project management tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project, Visio)
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, reporting tools, and SQL sufficient to guide analysis and review outputs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including reconciling and explaining complex data discrepancies between Costpoint and Cognos
  • Demonstrated skill in process redesign, system optimization, and influencing system configuration, enhancements, and integrations
  • Ability to partner with business stakeholders and influence decisions without direct authority
  • Experience leading UAT strategy, mentoring analysts, and establishing analysis best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including translating complex technical and reporting concepts for business audiences
  • Solid understanding of compliance, audit support, and data governance in regulated or financial environments
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Suite (Apps, Automate, BI, Flow) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint architectures, provisioning, and security is a plus.

 

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6–10+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, ERP Analyst, or similar role
  • Significant hands‑on experience supporting Deltek Costpoint in a production environment
 
Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 USD annually. This salary range is GTI Energy’s good faith estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, GTI Energy’s business or organizational needs and an individual’s relevant experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, seniority, geographic location, and/or performance. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus. The range listed is just one component of GTI Energy’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits.
