The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role supports production by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and executing timely repairs. The mechanic works on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other mechanical components while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

Monday-Thursday: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (+$3 Shift Differential)
Friday-Sunday: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (+$2 Shift Differential)
Friday-Sunday: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (+$3 Shift Differential)
The compensation range for this position is $27.00- $35.00. Final offers may vary based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The posted range represents the expected earning potential for this position within the current organizational budget and market conditions.
Essential Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
- · Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
- · Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other machinery.
- · Inspect, adjust, and replace worn or defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision Instruments.
- · Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- · Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform accurate repairs.
- · Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed for equipment repairs.
- · Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS and complete work orders promptly.
- · Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve equipment issues.
- · Comply with all safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
- · Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies
- · Performs other duties as directed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical repair.
- Certifications in welding, hydraulics, or mechanical systems are a plus.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for CMMS and reporting.
