Job Description

Job Title: Planner/Scheduler

Department:  Operations

Reports To: Site Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Summary: The Planner’s main responsibility is to facilitate and maintain the problem solving process for the Caravan Facility Management team for maintenance and sanitation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop Maintenance and Sanitation weekend & shutdown plans for the team.
  • Develop and maintain parts kitting for maintenance and engineering projects.
  • Review and analyze equipment breakdown failures by truly diagnosing the actual cause of the failure and assisting in corrective actions.
  • Prioritize improvement plans based on resources and anticipated gains by utilizing equipment breakdown and failure history, maintenance FMEA’s, and interacting with trades.
  • Coordinate and organize maintenance and engineering improvements plans and projects.
  • Analyze and maintain PM effectiveness by reviewing PM data, adjusting and creating PM’s.
  • Champion and maintain the maintenance FMEA for the team.
  • Interface between OEM’s and customer on maintenance related issues.
  • Assist CFM team and customer in identifying critical equipment.
  • Audit the Planned Maintenance system.
  • Facilitate planned maintenance system.
  • Facilitate planned maintenance (PM) planning meeting with Maintenance Manager.
  • Prepare, organize data needed for PM planning meeting.
  • Audit the planned maintenance system.
  • Responsible for attending specific facility meetings: Global Facilities meeting report out (daily), PM Planning and analysis meeting (weekly), Weekend Planning meeting (weekly), and Maintenance FMEA (monthly).

Education and/or Experience  

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or Associates, or technical training or certificate.
  • 5– 10 years related experience in budget, project management, and facilities management; 
  • Or equivalent combination of expertise and knowledge of specific industry and job-related experience.
  • Strong understanding of managing maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, including motivational techniques, presentations, conflict resolution experience, relationship building, coaching, and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to work primarily days, but flexible to evenings and weekends if the need should arise (to assist in supporting a 24/7 operation).  
  • Ability to use computer/maintenance programs and general applications (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
