Job Description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Youth Language Education Specialist to join our Youth Education and Outreach Team team located at the Language Building working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Youth Language Educator in Chickasaw language instruction for youth enrichment activities and programs including language camps, clubs and language challenge bowl.

Responsibilities:

* Work with the Youth Language Education Supervisor to monitor the class schedule
* Help the Youth Language Educator to create lessons and instruct the Chipota Chikashshanompoli (Youth Speaking Chickasaw Club)
* Assisting with the Youth Language Education Supervisor with lesson preparations by getting materials ready and setting up equipment
* Instruct as needed for IDP classes, community outreach events and community classes
* Teaches outreach classes via Zoom
* Create an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that encourages youth to actively participate in language learning activities, workshops and events
* Attends all meetings, trainings and workshops as directed
* Ensures the learning environment is safe and clean
* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
* Maintains equipment and orderly workspace/service zone
* Develops training curriculum to meet the business needs and implements changes, with support of management
* Must have some ability to speak the Chickasaw Language; if not fluent in the Chickasaw Language must be actively working toward proficiency in speaking
* Performs all other duties as assigned

* Must be able to prepare curriculum in a clear format
* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management
* Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management


Skills:

Essential:
* Basic Computer skills
* Conversant in Chickasaw
* Must have intermediate familiarity of Office software

Experience:

Essential:
* 2 years directly related experience


Education:

Essential:
* High School, GED or Equivalent


Nonessential:
* Bachelors Degree in directly related field
* Masters Degree in directly related field

Credentials:

Essential:
* Pass general background check
* Standard Driver's License


Nonessential:
* Class A Commercial Driver's License
