Job Description: Provides ongoing mental health and psychosocial client services. Services delivered include screening and assessing client needs and determining relevant treatment plans. Initiates or participates in community development initiatives, participating in PHC initiatives evaluation within site. Promotes quality health care outcomes working within established standards of practice to ensure that clients receive a high standard of primary health care. This will be done in accordance with organization mission statement, policies and procedures. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience
- Experience working with clients and families coping with mental health disorders
Education
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Bachelor Degree in a health related field
- Bachelor of Psychology is acceptable

- Demonstrated skills w/ Addiction and Concurrent disorders assessment/counseling
- Administrative skills
- Demonstrated skill in maintaining files and records
- High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues
- Assessment and intervention skills for individual and group theraphy modalities
- Keyboarding skills
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of healing practices and indigenous based healing initiatives
- Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills
- Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and traditions
- Knowledge in evidence based models of treatment intervention and application
- Ability to advocate on behalf of clients, caregivers /extended family members.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of professional conduct and judgement.
- Knowledge in quality improvement theory and methodologies
- Ability to conduct a suicide risk assessment with other health care providers
- Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
