Job Title: Head Basketball Coach
Location: Logan High School
School Year: 2026–2027
Position Summary:
Logan High School is seeking an outstanding and motivated leader to serve as Head Basketball Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a coaching-only position and is not tied to a teaching assignment. The Head Coach will lead all aspects of the basketball program, with an emphasis on building a highly competitive program, developing student-athletes, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Season:
October through March
Responsibilities Include:
- Design and implement a comprehensive program focused on skill development, strength and conditioning, and competitive success
- Plan and lead daily practices and all team activities
- Coach and manage all scheduled games and competitions
- Build and sustain a positive, disciplined, and team-first culture
- Oversee all levels of the program (e.g., varsity, sub-varsity) to ensure alignment and development
- Manage program budget, equipment, and uniforms
- Coordinate offseason training, camps, and player development opportunities
- Engage with players, families, and the school community to promote the program
- Organize and oversee the end-of-season banquet
- Ensure full compliance with school, district, and state athletic policies
Work Schedule:
Hours are variable and include evenings, weekends, and offseason commitments based on program needs.
Qualifications / Preferred Experience:
- Proven success as a basketball coach, preferably at the high school varsity level or higher
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a competitive, respected basketball program
- Strong knowledge of modern basketball strategies, player development, and strength/conditioning principles
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to develop assistant coaches and create alignment across all program levels
- Experience in program management, including budgeting, scheduling, and community engagement
- Commitment to the academic success, character, and overall development of student-athletes
- Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching positions
