Position Summary
The successful candidate will be a hands-on, student-centered educator who thrives in a teaching-focused environment and is deeply committed to mentoring undergraduate students. This faculty member will teach a range of courses within the Communication & Media Studies curriculum and contribute meaningfully to departmental service and university life.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Communication & Media Studies, with an emphasis on applied, skills-based instruction (e.g., media production, journalism, digital media, public relations, film, or related areas), depending on expertise
- Mentor and advise students, including support for internships, capstone projects, and career preparation
- Maintain regular office hours and provide individualized academic guidance to students
- Participate in curriculum development and program growth within a small, collaborative department
- Engage in departmental, college, and university service, including participation in assessment and recruitment efforts
- Contribute to a collegial academic environment aligned with the mission and values of St. Thomas University
