The working Master Electrician will be responsible for maintenance/construction activities around all voltages (up to 345kV) substation and transmission lines.  This position is a key contributor to the Paradigm team through both leadership and project execution.  A key component will be to obtain Master Electrician licenses in various states and sign on as the Master Electrician of Record for the Company in those states. 

  • Hold or obtain Master Electrician licenses in various jurisdictions and sign on as the Master Electrician of Record on the Company’s Electrical Contractor’s Licenses.
  • Oversee maintenance/construction on electrical collection systems including underground cable faults, pad-mount transformers (including fuses, bushings, and terminations), switchgears, splices, wiring up to 34.5kV, substation riser terminations, scan, test HV, MV and LV cables.
  • May lead, train, and instruct 3-5 crew members in safe work practices for the assigned tasks.
  • Oversee substation switching and LOTO.
  • Troubleshoot and/or test electrical components and systems.
  • Oversee service on underground collection systems, substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of all electrical units on the job site.
  • Ensure scheduled checks for spotting any malfunctions.
  • Oversee appropriate use and handling of electrical testing and repair equipment.
  • Oversee completion of all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.
  • Maintain a log of electrical repair and maintenance works.
