The Laboratory Specialist serves as a field‑based technical authority who enhances the value of QuidelOrtho solutions across clinical laboratory and transfusion medicine environments in Korea.
The role strengthens customer confidence in our portfolio by delivering expert technical guidance, ensuring compliant use of diagnostic technologies, and supporting high‑quality laboratory practices aligned with global standards.
Acting as a key technical partner to Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and QuidelOrtho Service teams, the Laboratory Specialist contributes to strategic account engagement, customer experience excellence, and portfolio optimization. The position also plays a central role in identifying customer needs, gathering market insights, and supporting initiatives that expand QuidelOrtho’s presence and influence within the Korean diagnostics market.
The role requires strong communication skills, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization while representing QuidelOrtho as a trusted scientific and technical resource to internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Establish QuidelOrtho as a brand which works with customers to create and enhance value Working with key non-medical stakeholders as singe point contact for new projects to help them establish new hospitals, laboratories and improve efficiency In the various departments of the hospitals Identify educational partners and consultancies, IT solutions which could help QuidelOrtho foray into the unchartered segments Preparation of Installations including site inspection, reagent, and consumable orders and completion and submission of required documentation
Perform calibrations, system configuration, and lead validation/ Correlation according to SOP requirements Deliver Trainings to ensure Customer operate instruments correctly and efficiently Provide on-site support to customers in the effective establishment of routine operations Support and Manage third party relationships during installations 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) implementation
Market Development & Portfolio Management:
Execute market development initiatives to drive growth platforms
Facilitate Training on New Products
Execute KOL engagement initiatives
Execute product portfolio strategy and work with stakeholders to achieve sustainable and profitable growth mix
Product Launches:
Execute Marketing Planning & new product launch process which will incorporate regulatory, reimbursement, clinical, marketing & pricing strategy.
Plan and execute required product training for the teams
Coordinate with Sales and QuidelOrtho service team for customer workshops and key operator training
Business Development:
Plan and facilitate market research to gain insights to market opportunities & needs, particularly segmented needs in current business
Partner with Commercial teams to understand Customer needs and insights
Work closely with marketing department
Co-ordinate inputs into local pipeline/portfolio/marketing planning
Regularly survey VOC of the KR team and customers for the CL, TM & POCT portfolio
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in Life Sciences or equivalent qualifications
Product and Market Knowledge: demonstrates experience in laboratory medicine through working in diagnostic laboratories and/or in IVD company
Shows clear understanding of how IVD products are used and applied to patient care
Keeps abreast of developments in laboratory medicine and passes this information to both customers and company colleagues
The role requires having an attitude to work with C Suites of the healthcare industry and with the bench staff
Should be able to work in a matrix organization
Should have good influencing and interpersonal skills with effective communication and business attitude.
The role requires frequent travel within the region
5-10 years of experience in healthcare/diagnostics/hospitals
Ability to collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, and cross functional teams
