Job Title: GT Certified Teacher
Contract Days: 190 days
GT Teacher is directly supervised and evaluated by building-level Administrators and the GT
Coordinator.
Qualifications of Employment:
? Holds a teaching license with GT Certification
? Preferred experience working with GT students and parents
? Preferred experience working with building principals and classroom teachers
? GT Teachers are selected by the GT Coordinator and district/administrative team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Fulfill all duties of GT Teacher as directed by the ADE/DESE including, but not limited to:
o Administer GT assessments for the gifted program identification process
o Participate in placement decisions at each building level
o Provide required professional development training to K-4 classroom teachers
o Plan and deliver curriculum for K-2 enrichment and GT pull-out classes
o Record and collect documentation of K-2 Whole Group Enrichment Observations
o Deliver required service minutes for assigned identified GT students (3rd-5th)
o Notify GT Coordinator of new referrals and concerns with identified GT students
o Provide observations and administer assessments as requested for grade-level
and subject-level accelerations
o Coordinate academic interventions and differentiation strategies with classroom teachers as requested
? Attend Open House events and represent the GT Program at the building level
? Participate in GT professional development (PD) and maintain GT teacher training
? Attend monthly GT Meetings/Trainings and Support Advocacy of Gifted Education
(SAGE) Meetings
? GT Events:
o Mini-Quiz Bowl (3rd/4th Grade)
o Elem. Quiz Bowl (5th/6th Grade Teams) and Quarterly Quiz Bowl Family Nights
o GT Field Trips
o Annual AGATE Conference (Arkansas Gifted and Talented Educators)
? Other duties as assigned.
