Description:
The Director, Training and Prevention leads the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training and prevention programming that advance understanding and effective responses to human trafficking. Through research, curriculum/presentation development, and public engagement, the Director builds capacity and awareness across sectors and age groups, while communicating the mission of Our Rescue with clarity and conviction. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong external training facilitation skills, and a passion for educating the public about human trafficking. This role engages diverse audiences to drive awareness, inspire action, and align efforts with the organization’s core values and goals.
· Management
o Oversee direct reports on the Training and Prevention team.
o Assist team members to comply with team processes and procedures, including due diligence/vetting, data collection, facilitating internal approvals, etc.
· Content Development
o Conduct research on human trafficking trends, legislation, prevention strategies, and survivor support services.
o Analyze data and findings to inform training content, advocacy efforts, and organizational strategy.
o Monitor policy developments and emerging best practices in the field of anti- trafficking and incorporate them into program planning.
o Develop accurate, evidence-based, and engaging training materials and educational content (e.g., manuals, presentations, tools, handouts, e-learning modules).
o Create and assist in the development of grant proposals
· Training & Facilitation
o Deliver impactful in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences including professionals, educators, law enforcement, survivor care and community stakeholders.
o Customize content to accommodate diverse learning needs across geographies, populations and cultural contexts.
· Outreach & Presentations
o Represent the organization at conferences, panels, workshops, and media events.
o Build and maintain partnerships with donors, NGOs, government agencies, schools, law enforcement, and other relevant groups.
· Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
o Implement and measure training and prevention efforts to assess program reach, participant outcomes, and long-term effectiveness.
o Translate insights from feedback and research into program improvements that foster adaptability and innovation.
· Any other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a master’s degree being preferred or equivalent experience.
· Extensive experience designing and delivering trainings and tools, leading public speaking engagements, and developing curriculum in anti-trafficking, exploitation, and social justice contexts.
· Direct service experience supporting trafficking survivors, applying trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and evidence-based best practices in all aspects of work.
· Proven ability to collaborate across sectors, build strategic partnerships, and work effectively with diverse populations and disciplines.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of engaging and educating varied audiences.
· Proficient in instructional design and virtual learning platforms, with experience creating impactful in-person and online training modules.
· Flexible and mission-driven, with the ability and readiness to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
· Fluent in English, with working knowledge of additional languages being advantageous.
