Receiving Clerk
Ace Controls, a leader in velocity controls, is seeking a Receiving Clerk for 1st Shift. This role has the responsibility and authority to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within establishment by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Counts, sorts, or weighs articles to verify the receipt of incoming shipments.
- Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, on shelves, or on racks according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Distributes stock among production workers and keeps records of materials issued.
- Cuts stock to size to fill shortages or inspection requirements.
- Moves or transports material, supplies, or paperwork to specified departments.
- Handles all parts or materials carefully to avoid damage or personal injury.
- Uses computer to access information concerning location, lot number, part count status, purchase order, work order, or shortage information.
- Participates and contributes ideas and information to Quality Circle activities.
- Follows all Procedures or work instructions.
- Keeps all work areas clean and free of obstruction.
- Performs all tasks with the highest regard to inventory accuracy.
- Performs basic maintenance on electric or gas-powered material handling equipment.
- Moves company owned vehicles into protected areas at the start and/or end of shift.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Shipping & receiving experience is preferred, but other acceptable experience includes: warehouse, stockroom and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs.
