Location: On-site, Sioux Falls, SD
TCOM is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to serve as the primary HR partner for assigned locations. This role supports the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, including onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, and policy compliance for a diverse workforce of manufacturing, professional, and field employees.
The HR Generalist will work directly with local leadership and employees while collaborating with the broader HR team. This position requires a proactive HR professional who is comfortable working independently and delivering high-quality HR support across multiple areas of the employee lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build strong working relationships with employees and leadership at assigned locations to provide proactive HR guidance and support.
• Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned locations, providing guidance to employees and leadership on HR policies, employee relations matters, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
• Support full-cycle recruiting activities, including pre-employment requirements.
• Conduct onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a positive and compliant new hire experience.
• Administer HR programs including benefits, leave management, and company policies.
• Partner with site leadership to address workforce issues and support effective employee management.
• Exercise independent judgement when handling employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
• Coordinate and manage workers’ compensation claims, including communication with employees, leadership, and insurance partners and return-to-work coordination.
• Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews and documentation.
• Lead or support HR initiatives and special projects that support organizational goals and continuous improvement.
• Operate as the on-site HR resource while maintaining close collaboration with the broader HR team.
• Travel to supported locations as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
7+ years of progressive HR experience required, including employee relations and independent HR decision-making. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Preferred Certifications: PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of HR principles including recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, and compliance.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting a multi-functional workforce including manufacturing, field, and professional employees.
• Ability to work independently and serve as the primary HR resource for assigned locations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships with employees and leadership.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
