POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Structural Engineer performs work that involves the design, construction, and execution of structural projects.

Work is closely managed and reviewed for accuracy and adequacy.  Follows specific, outlined, and detailed directions.

Provides resolution to problems that are readily identifiable with limited scope and are resolved in accordance with standard practices, procedures, applications or routines.

Problem/Task resolution timeframe:  The majority of tasks typically take one to two days to resolve.

Contacts are primarily with direct supervisors and others in groups or departments to give and receive information.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Structural Engineer IV 

  • Works closely with members of the team and assists in completing projects in a timely manner
  • Implements and utilizes the Company’s Best Practices for projects and processes.
  • Working knowledge of Revit models for clearances, potential conflicts, and relationships of the carious parts to the whole and to one another.

Structural Engineer III 

  • Checks design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation.   

Structural Engineer II 

  • Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, and plan preparation.
  • Provide structural design for buildings and industrial structures.
  • Be familiar with the recent building and engineering codes including AISC, ACI, ASCE, and IBC

Structural Engineer I 

  • Perform moderately complex design calculations and custom detailing.
  • Identify life safety code requirements to determine structural loading criteria.
  • Select appropriate structural systems for project requirements. 

Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PER JOB LEVEL 

  • Structural Engineer IV – Bachelor’s Degree/Continuing Education; EIT Preferred
  • Structural Engineer III – Bachelor’s Degree/Continuing Education; two (2) years experience; EIT Expected
  • Structural Engineer II – Bachelor’s Degree/Continuing Education; four (4) years experience; EIT Expected
  • Structural Engineer I - Bachelor’s Degree/Continuing Education; six (6) years experience; PE License Expected
