Summary / Primary Role:
The position of Dispatcher will have primary responsibility for the administration of policies, procedures, training, support, reporting and best practices within the operations department for drivers, contractors, dispatchers, customer service, brokerage and truck dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer, Carrier & Driver Management – Build and maintain relationships to meet coverage needs, support revenue growth, and ensure high service levels
- Load Planning & Execution – Source, price, and assign freight using company assets and third-party carriers to maximize utilization and profitability
- Dispatch & Operational Oversight – Manage shipments end-to-end, ensuring accurate data entry, timely updates, and compliance with service, safety, and regulatory requirements (DOT/FMCSA)
- Driver Performance & Compliance – Monitor hours of service, safety, and performance; provide coaching, corrective action, and recommendations as needed
- Issue Resolution & Escalation – Serve as first point of contact for operational issues; resolve service disruptions, recover loads/equipment, and protect customer relationships
- Growth & Capacity Development – Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and support driver recruiting and retention efforts
- Systems & Reporting – Utilize transportation systems and GPS tools; maintain accurate records, support reporting, and ensure data integrity
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Safety, Maintenance, and other teams to support compliance, equipment readiness, and operational performance
- Financial & Administrative Support – Ensure proper documentation for billing, payroll, and payables; support pricing and RFP activities as needed
- On-Call & Team Support – Provide after-hours support and assist team coverage during absences or peak periods

Job Specifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Must be literate in Microsoft Office software programs and be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.

Work Environment:
This job operates predominately in an indoor office environment with some exposure to the warehouse environment with some exposure to noise, vibration, particles, fumes, and temperature variations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
