Internship work includes a significant amount of field work, inspections, use of GPS/GIS for field data collection, data entry, report writing, and participation in stormwater education and outreach events. Field inspection tasks include assessing stormwater conveyance systems (curbs, drain inlets, pipes, and outfalls), evaluating stormwater treatment systems (constructed wetlands, infiltration basins, vegetated swales, and underground vaults), creating inventories of maintenance needs, verifying the effectiveness of street sweeping, construction site inspections, and responding to citizen complaints.

2. Coordinate field maintenance with California Conservation Corps crews within stormwater basins and vegetated channels.
3. Assist and participate in public education and outreach events and efforts related to stormwater pollution prevention.
4. Assist with inspections of storm drain systems and ongoing public works construction projects (bike paths, erosion control and restoration projects).
5. Field data collection using GPS devices to inventory storm drain pipe material, size and condition for Asset Management.
6. Review and provide QA/QC of collected field data.
7. Performs related duties as required.
