Hours/Days: 8:10am - 3:10pm Varies M-F
Salary: $24.62 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:
The role of a substitute teacher will provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment for all students,
focusing on an environment that provides instruction in social and academic skills, builds language skills, and to empower
students to be creative thinkers. The nature of this position demands the flexibility and ability to provide for all students.
You will be required to follow instructions left by the teacher as well as instruct under the general direction of the building
principal or program director with assistance from appropriate staff personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma/GED, AA Degree or 72 college credits and hold an
emergency teaching certificate.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in on-on-one and small group
situations to students, parents, and staff of the school district.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written
or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk,
sit, bend frequently.
