About the Role

SEIU Local 2015 is seeking experienced and dynamic Lead Organizers (Supervisors) to serve as frontline leaders within the organizing function.

This role reports into the organizing leadership structure and is responsible for supervising Organizer staff, driving campaign execution, and delivering measurable outcomes across membership growth, leadership development, and worker mobilization.

The Lead Organizer plays a critical role in translating strategy into execution, building high-performing teams, and ensuring alignment with SEIU Local 2015’s mission, values, and organizing standards.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Organizer staff to achieve organizing and campaign goals
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary
  • Develop and implement individual staff development plans
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of organizing staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous learning

Organizing Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Lead and execute organizing campaigns, including membership growth, COPE recruitment, contract campaigns, and strikes
  • Translate regional and statewide strategies into actionable campaign plans
  • Drive measurable outcomes in worker engagement, leader development, and mobilization
  • Ensure campaigns are executed with consistency, discipline, and strategic alignment

Program & Team Management

  • Manage assigned turf and oversee team performance across organizing activities
  • Coordinate and lead staff and member teams in campaign planning and execution
  • Ensure effective use of time, staff capacity, and resources to meet campaign goals
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies to ensure successful outcomes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Political, Communications, and Community teams to align organizing strategies
  • Support integrated campaign efforts across departments
  • Contribute to broader organizational and statewide initiatives

Planning, Data & Accountability

  • Develop and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly work plans for staff and campaigns
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics, including membership growth, COPE participation, and leadership development
  • Use data and reporting to guide decision-making and improve outcomes
  • Ensure accountability to goals, timelines, and performance expectations
