Job Summary

As a Systems Developer intern in the Pension Solution Group’s Pension Core Team, you will join a team that is passionate about supporting HOOPP’s frontline pension platform. Our goal is to provide genuine service to our pension members and Ontario’s healthcare providers. By joining PSG, you will be solving challenging problems that make a real impact on the solutions we deliver. 

You will work alongside experienced Systems Developers and Business Analysts to support the quality and reliability of the Insight platform, gaining exposure to real-world development practices that have a direct impact on HOOPP members and Ontario’s healthcare providers.

What you will do:

  • Assist in building and maintaining automated test cases using C# and Playwright to support functional and regression testing

  • Support execution of automated and manual test cases and help document test results

  • Learn how automated tests are integrated into CI/CD pipelines and assist with test execution during builds

  • Review business requirements and help translate them into test scenarios written in Gherkin language

  • Use Azure DevOps to support test case management, defect tracking, and test reporting

  • Assist with maintaining test data and test environments used for execution

  • Use SQL (with guidance) to help analyze data when troubleshooting test failures or defects

  • Assist with test automation efforts by leveraging AI-enabled‑ tools to help generate, refine, and maintain automated test cases, improving efficiency and test coverage under the guidance of the team.

  • Collaborate with team members during Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives

  • Contribute ideas to improve testing processes, tools, and documentation

  • Learn industry best practices in software testing, automation, and Agile delivery

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College coop program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Interest in software development, quality assurance, or test automation

  • Basic knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (such as C# or Java)

  • Familiarity with, or interest in learning, test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium)

  • Basic understanding of SQL or a willingness to learn

  • Familiarity in Agile ways of working and collaborating within a team environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and an organized approach to work

  • Willingness to ask questions, learn new tools, and adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools (Visual Studio, Azure, .NET) is a nice to have

 

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $21.00 to $31.00
