Position Summary:
The Assistant MS Spring Track & Field Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration, organization, and development of the New Hope-Solebury Middle School Track & Field program. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic participation, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and supervising the middle school track and field program in accordance with District policies and applicable league regulations.

Support the instruction and supervision of student-athletes during practices, meets, and related team activities.

Conduct and assist with practices that emphasize fundamental skill development, conditioning, teamwork, and safe participation.

Instruct student-athletes in track and field fundamentals, including running events, relays, and field events as assigned.

Help evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual improvement and team development.

Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.

Support the academic success, well-being, and positive development of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.

Assist with meet preparation and management, including warm-ups, event organization, athlete supervision, and equipment setup and breakdown.

Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.

Ensure compliance with District policies, league rules, and safety protocols, including supervision, eligibility, and reporting requirements.

Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications:

Prior coaching and/or participation experience in track and field or related athletic programs preferred.

Knowledge of basic track and field rules, event techniques, and safety practices.

Ability to work effectively with middle school–aged student-athletes in an educational environment.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to collaborate positively with coaches, administrators, and school staff.

Completion of required District, league, and state-mandated certifications and clearances.
