Description
The Poultry Specialist - Commercial Lines Account Manager plays a critical role in supporting the marketing, servicing, and underwriting processes of Commercial Lines accounts, with a dedicated focus on poultry operations and related agribusiness risks. This individual ensures that client records are accurate, renewals are processed timely, endorsements are handled efficiently, and client communications are clear and professional. This role collaborates closely with Account Executives, Producers, and Carriers - particularly those specializing in agribusiness - to deliver exceptional service and maintain strong client relationships within the poultry industry.
Work Performed:
- Manage a book of commercial lines accounts with a focus on poultry operations, including growers and related agribusiness risks. Management includes renewals, policy changes, billing and day-to-day servicing
- Review and analyze coverage for specialized exposures such as poultry houses, equipment, environmental risks and business interruption
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, carriers and internal team members
- Support new business production efforts in collaboration with producers and account executives
- Evaluate client risk exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions
- Coordinate with producers and carriers to market and remarket poultry accounts as needed
- Handle client billing including invoicing, reconciling account discrepancies and tracking outstanding payments
- Identify coverage gaps unique to poultry operations and recommend appropriate solutions
Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License (required)
- Excellent communication, customer service and relationship management skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proactive problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Office, Outlook)
Preferred Education & Experience
- 3+ years experience with commercial lines insurance is preferred, but not required
- Prior experience servicing agricultural or poultry-related accounts strongly preferred
- Knowledge of poultry operations, including contract growers and associated risk exposures
- Familiarity with carriers that specialize in agribusiness and poultry risks
- Strong understanding of commercial lines coverages, including property, liability and farm/ag packages
- Familiarity with agency workflows and management systems (e.g., Applied Epic) is a plus
