Job Description

Description

The Semmes Murphey Clinic is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to join our Surgery Center team. Our center specializes in minimally invasive surgery and pain management procedures. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures in both the operating room and procedure rooms. You'll work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care. The Surgery Center operates Monday through Friday. There is no call, nights, or weekends!


Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Explain and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation 
  • Adjust devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician 
  • Assist physician in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations
  • Process and review images for proper identification and quality control 
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed in the state of Tennessee as a Medical X-ray Operator
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • One (1) year direct experience required: 3 years’ experience with fluoroscopy including neurosurgery (or equivalent) and pain procedures preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word), electronic medical records (EMR), and medical practice software
  • Ability to respond promptly to patient needs and requests for service and assistance 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral 
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction 
  • Strong knowledge of safety and security procedures with the ability to identify and report potentially unsafe conditions, equipment, and materials
