Job Description

As a Project Engineer at GLY, you play a vital role in supporting seamless project delivery by combining technical curiosity, proactive coordination, and strong teamwork. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, field leaders, clients, and trade partners to keep work moving efficiently and accurately, from procurement and planning to quality control and closeout. This role gives you the opportunity to problem‑solve daily, contribute to project success in meaningful ways, and grow your technical and leadership capabilities while being an essential part of the project team.

 

What You Get to Do:


  • Effectively prioritize and manage project engineering workload; apply innovative problem-solving skills and critical thinking to daily tasks.
  • Be an awesome teammate. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and other team.
  • Manage the procurement/submittal process for assigned scope to meet the project schedule; ensure correct materials and quantities arrive on time.
  • Help mitigate any risks related to schedule, labor, materials and installation.
  • Develop details, alternate methods, or a sequence of work that brings resolution to issues.
  • Collaborates with our field leaders to execute work at a high level.
  • Monitor quality of work in place and participate in the GLY QA/QC program.
  • Participate in project meetings; prepare and distribute accurate meeting minutes. 
  • Communicate project needs in a timely manner to appropriate team members, including the Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Follow and use all GLY PE best practice procedures, logs, process, software, and technologies.
  • Assemble close-out information including as-builts and warranties.

 

What It Takes:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Structural, etc.) or related field of study.
  • 2 or more years project engineering experience with a General Contractor that self-performs work; relevant military and / or intern experience counts. Interior Special Projects experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and Auto-CAD required; knowledge of REVIT, Sketch-Up and On-screen Take-Off, PlanGrid, Smartsheet and Enterprise Resource Planning software (e.g. CMiC) a plus.
  • Other specialized experience or accreditations preferred, e.g. LEED, DBIA, EIT, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills - communication is a large part of what we do.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others – we like to have fun.
  • Adaptable – you work well under pressure and adapt quickly to different situations / work environments.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000.
