AZ Driver | Full-Time | $28.02/hour | Mississauga, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of commercial driving
Additional Requirements: Hand-bombing and tailgate deliveries using a pump cart
Position Summary
Cardinal Couriers is looking for a dependable and experienced AZ Driver to join our team. This role involves loading freight into a company vehicle and completing scheduled routes to ensure timely, safe, and accurate deliveries. The position is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of freight while maintaining a high standard of service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy trucks in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport freight over assigned routes while meeting delivery schedules.
- Load, secure, and stabilize cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Offload shipments and confirm quantities against delivery paperwork.
- Navigate routes efficiently, including unfamiliar locations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (brakes, tires, lights, etc.).
- Identify and report mechanical issues or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records for hours of service, mileage, and deliveries.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and internal teams.
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service at all delivery points.
- Adhere to all safety policies and report any incidents or violations immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid AZ driver’s licence with at least 2 years of experience.
- 2–3 years of commercial driving experience required.
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR.
- Previous warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a structured, fast-paced environment.
