Job position reports to La Porte Technical and Operational Excellence Manager at the La Porte Polypropylene Plant in La Porte, Texas.
ORGANIZATION:
Loss control responsibilities include: Understanding, supporting and compliance with all plant policies, procedures and applicable regulations; conducting Loss Control activities, including inspections and audits as assigned; completion of assigned Loss Control action items; and completion of regulatory and other required training. Maintain safety and welfare of all personnel and act as a member of the site EOC.
Manage and coordinate the site’s availability program, as per the Company Rules, pillars, REX and KPIs.
Lead bi-monthly Alignment meetings with leadership team to review site’s strategic initiatives and plant score card (KPIs).
Ensure all production losses have been identified, analyzed, and reported (according to criticality).
Manage the implementation and the proper application of the availability pillars and associated Company Rules.
Facilitate the Performance Improvement Team meetings focusing on action item review and equipment bad actors
Lead yearly business availability improvement plan workshops for site and LBUs
METHODS:
Ensure that the good practices identified as having a positive impact on the performance are known, available and shared across all business teams.
Plan and facilitate vulnerability studies. Track implementation of validated actions
Ensure adequate RCA processes are applied and facilitate selected RCAs. Monitor implementation of validated actions. Effectively foster use of digital tools as provided by the company and maintain site Operational Excellence Power BI and Huddle boards
Gather, organize, and submit the data for the annual PTAI survey and support internal benchmarking with in TTE PP sites. Ensure data has been reviewed by general manager. Review and analyze data and results to identify areas for improvement
Identify and evaluate the obstacles that can slow down the development of the operational excellence / availability program. Track major areas of improvement and propose and implement appropriate solutions.
Initiate vulnerability studies and ensure that the findings are systematically integrated into the scope definition of turnaround activities.
Centralize iREX and analysis, ensure relevant iRex’s are reviewed in Performance Improvement meetings and actions proposed. Present proposed actions in iCOREX for validation. Track and communicate the status of the ongoing actions.
Participate in performance leader network meetings and identify best practices for site implementation
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and lead performance enhancement initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Engage with technical teams and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational objectives and strategic priorities.
COMMITMENT:
Ensure that staff have received adequate performance training regarding their function and if necessary, that training programs are defined and appropriate.
Be proactive in terms of performance culture with members of CODIR, heads of Production, Maintenance, Inspection and method of the LBU.
Participate in the “Turnaround Gate Committee” gates 0 & 1 and the Turnaround Steering Committee preparatory stages.
