Position Summary: The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs in one or more core program area. This role helps ensure the delivery of high-quality, outcome-driven youth development programs that align with the Club’s mission while upholding adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities include program development and implementation, behavior support, safety, and facility management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development & Oversight:
Planning and implementation of lesson plans, programs, services, and activities to achieve youth development outcomes.
Ensure all programs adhere to the Boys & Girls Club's policies, procedures, and established youth development strategies.
Collect and maintain necessary data and documentation for grant outcomes, including daily attendance and program participation.
Club Experience & Behavior Support:
Actively supervise and interact with youth in program areas.
Promote a high-quality, Outcome-Driven Club Experience for all Club members by utilizing positive youth development principles.
Build supportive, meaningful relationships with youth and their families, regardless of background, to support Club members’ success.
Foster recognition opportunities for Club members by showcasing program achievements.
Establish and enforce behavior expectations, providing consequences per organizational policy.
Provide behavior support utilizing trauma-informed strategies to promote Club members’ success.
Exercise authority in resolving issues involving Club members.
Safety & Facility Management:
Ensure child safety practices always meet or exceed the requirements of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Club of Portage County, government agencies, and other collaborative entities.
Assist in ensuring the overall Club environment is safe and inviting for all Club members, staff, and visitors.
Assist with cleaning schedules and equipment upkeep.
Professionalism:
Arrive on time according to the staff schedule.
Appear dressed professionally.
Prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in a manner that fulfills daily responsibilities while continuing to make progress toward longer-term objectives.
Complete assigned work by established due dates.
Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and meetings.
Support fellow staff in meeting program goals, objectives, and outcomes.
Set a positive example both within and outside the Club.
Promptly report employee misconduct to supervisor.
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in special Club programs and events.
Maintain First Aid/CPR certification and complete other training as needed (e.g., shuttle, ALICE, etc.).
Pass annual and ongoing background checks.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience (Requires a majority combination of the following):

High school diploma or GED
-
Prior work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people

Other Qualifications:

At least 18 years old.

Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations; personnel management; facilities management; and budget management

Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to problem solve, prioritize, multi-task, and delegate assignments to meet deadlines

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, community partners, youth and caregivers

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Flexibility to work hours that vary daily and throughout the year
