For permanent employment OHB System AG in Bremen is looking for a
Electrical Architect (m/f/d) As Electrical Architect, you will define and own the satellite electrical harness architecture, from early concept through to qualified, flight-ready hardware. This role sits at a critical intersection: your architecture enables the integration of avionics, payloads, power distribution, and communication systems across the spacecraft.
You will work closely with Mechanical and AIT teams to ensure routing, integration, and installation are efficient and robust. Together with system engineers and customers, you will shape interfaces, electrical budgets, and design trade-offs to meet mission, cost, and schedule constraints. You will also collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are producible, reliable, and compliant with space standards.
Your technical leadership will be key in driving coherent architectural decisions, leading design reviews, and delivering scalable, high-quality harness solutions that directly contribute to mission success.
Your Tasks
Tasks in the Project
Definition of Satellite Harness architecture, including bracket and HMU definition, in close cooperation with Mechanical and AIT areas Creation of preliminary harness design, Allocation ICDs, IO budgets and trade-offs in order to determine optimal solutions in terms of mass, integration effort and cost, while respecting basic electrical, EMC and charging compatibility aspects Definition of subsystem level requirements Coordination of the project harness engineering team (including electrical and 3D routing) Lead the harness Engineering process from preliminary phase until harness manufacturing and acceptance, considering satellite need dates and constraints Support system level design reviews Interface to customers and subcontractor Tasks in the Department
Set up & Develop a top down engineering process Allow an overview of the whole electrical architecture from early phases until AIT Allow a sub-assembly based, and Model based (FM, EM, STM..) definition Allow automatized process for change control, ICD and end2end verification Further development of strategic competences / technologies
Your Qualifications
A degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering or compatible qualification More than 5 years of professional experience in the field of Harness engineering in Space Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work independently Fluency in spoken and written English.
