The Flagler Steakhouse Sommelier is responsible for guiding guests through their wine selections, identifying individual preferences, and offering tailored food and wine pairings to elevate the dining experience. This role entails ensuring proper wine service according to The Breakers standards, adhering to food safety regulations, and engaging guests to provide personalized wine recommendations. Additionally, the Sommelier Manager acts as the team's wine expert and educator, ensuring the staff is knowledgeable about the Flagler Steakhouse wine selection.


Responsibilities:

- Guide guests in selecting wines and recommend appropriate food pairings

- Ensure adherence to wine service standards and food safety protocols

- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and offer tailored wine suggestions

- Serve as the team's wine expert, providing education and training to staff

- Curate the wine selection, purchase wines, and manage expenses related to wine procurement

- Develop and maintain wine lists that appeal to diverse preferences

- Uphold exceptional customer service and enhance the overall dining experience

- Collaborate with the culinary team to create cohesive food and wine pairings


**Qualifications:

- Certified Sommelier

- Extensive knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals

- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or steakhouse setting

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to guide and educate guests on wine choices

- Detail-oriented with a passion for providing exceptional service
