    ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
    BARTLESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

     

    Contract:  12 month

    Location:  Bartlesville High School

    Position Summary: Assist the Principal in the safe and effective operation of the total school site by providing supervision and development of educational programs which support students and staff.

    Qualifications/Job Requirements:

    • Valid Oklahoma Secondary Principal certification and a minimum of three years of verifiable
    • secondary school teaching experience
    • Demonstrated teaching and leadership skills, written and oral communication skills
    • Knowledge of teaching techniques, curriculum and staff development  
    • Ability to coach, mentor, and teach adults
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, follow state and district guidelines   
    • Ability to collect and analyze data from a variety of sources, evaluate and make recommendations

    Reports to/Supervised by:  Principal

    Supervises:  Building staff, Certified and Classified

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assists in organizing, coordinating and conducting the pre-enrollment of students and developing the master schedule.
    • Supervises student discipline procedures, student attendance, academic eligibility and student activities.
    • Provides leadership in developing and implementing new or revised programs.
    • Provides supervision and performance appraisal to teaching faculty.
    • Implements and supervises required safety drills and the function of the Safe School Committee.
    • Supervises and counsels with building staff regarding staff development programs and events, parent meetings, student assemblies, and other student activities.
    • Supervises the orientation of new teachers, intern teachers and students new to the building.
    • Represents the Principal in the absence of the Principal.
    • Performs other tasks or services consistent with the duties defined in the position summary.
