    Purpose: The Assistant Principal's primary purpose is to provide support to the building Principal for the overall operation of the school.

    Supervisor: Building Principal

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • New Hampshire Credential/Certification as a Principal, Associate Principal, or in another related or appropriate area.
    • Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
    • Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
      -3�5 years of successful administrative experience, preferably at the elementary level
      -Deep understanding of elementary child development, with the ability to translate that knowledge into developmentally appropriate practices, supports, and expectations
      -Strong expertise in student behavior systems and supports, including proactive, restorative, and responsive approaches to student needs
      -Demonstrated ability to analyze behavioral and academic data to inform decision-making and guide interventions
      -Experience supporting and coaching staff in classroom management strategies and differentiated instruction
      -Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families, especially during challenging situations
      -Strong communication skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
      -Experience contributing to or leading MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) frameworks
      -Ability to stay calm, flexible, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced, prek- 6 student-centered environment
      -Commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating a supportive school culture for all learners

    Essential Functions:

    • Enforces all District policies relating to students and student behavior
    • Addresses day-to-day student behavior concerns
    • Counsels students and parents about school and district policies
    • Assists in the planning, developing and implementing individual student behavior plans
    • Serves as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues
    • Assists in developing programs to promote positive student behavior
    • Confers appropriate consequences for behavior issues
    • Assists with facility use requests with the District office in the required timeline
    • Assists with the school's crisis Management Plan and district team
    • Assists and supervises fire drills and other drills as required by Board policy or statute
    • Works closely with the District's School Security Officer to address and resolve safety concerns
    • Provides supervision for student activities and events
    • Ensures student behavior and attendance data are accurately entered into student database
    • Facilitates the generation of local/state/federal reports
    • At the high school level, assists with post-secondary enrollment options
    • Develops an open, trusting relationship between faculty, students and community members
    • Assists in yearly evaluations of staff under the guidance of the Principal
