Maintenance Director Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility
  • Ensure all systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety—are in proper working condition
  • Supervise and schedule maintenance team members
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including DOH and OSHA standards
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs as required
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee repair projects

Maintenance Director Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Director or Supervisor role, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to manage staff and delegate tasks effectively
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications are a plus
