Job Description

 Shipping and Receiving Associate I

Department:  Distribution/Quality Control

Reports To: Operations/General Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Shift & Training Details:

This position is scheduled for the overnight shift from 1:00 AM – 9:30 AM.

You will be required to complete initial training on the 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM shift. Once training is complete, you will transition to the 1:00 AM start time.

This role requires dependable, self-motivated individuals who can manage their time effectively. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and accuracy. 

Description:  The Shipping and Receiving Associate I is responsible for supporting the daily flow of incoming and outgoing parts. This role focuses on unloading transfer trucks, checking in and inspecting incoming parts, and assisting with loading delivery drivers to ensure orders are accurate, organized, and ready for timely distribution. This position plays an important role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and quality throughout the shipping and receiving process.


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Unload incoming transfer trucks safely and efficiently.*

  • Help meet established unloading goal times.

  • Record and document daily unload completion times accurately.

  • Check incoming parts accurately and verify proper condition.*

  • Inspect parts for visible damage, accuracy, and quality concerns.*

  • Assist in staging and loading parts for delivery drivers.*

  • Organize outgoing merchandise so it is easy to identify and load correctly.*

  • Prepare parts for shipment or storage using proper tagging, bagging, wrapping, and packaging methods.*

  • Communicate any issues, shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.*

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.*

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.*

  • Work cooperatively with shipping & receiving, delivery drivers, and management to support daily operations.*

  • Must be able to work outside in the elements.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.*

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Prior warehouse, shipping/receiving, or automotive parts experience preferred.

  • Strong attendance and punctuality required.

  • Must be dependable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

  • Leadership experience is not required, but experience helping guide a team or act as a point person is a plus.

  • Forklift experience or certification preferred; training may be provided.


Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates and Licenses:

Forklift certification. Training and certification available.

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Salary: $22-$27/hr

Paid Time Off

Scheduling:  Full time shifts are 5 days a week Monday through Friday working 40 hours a week. Lunch break is mandatory 30 minute lunch break or an optional 1 hour lunch Break.

Tools and Equipment: We provide the tools necessary to complete the job such as tablets/scanners for part processing, company email, personal accounts for management systems, procedure documents, proper PPE, etc.

Training:  We offer a 90 day grace period with a 2 week paid training period allowing you to become familiar with the role.
