Description:

1. On an as needed basis, helps the staff develop appropriate lessons in the area of good hygiene and deliver this instruction as necessary.
2. Assists the District Nurse by accurately maintaining all required student health records in each school.
3. Observes, cares for and counsels the ill and injured in the schools.
4. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or dentist.
5. Makes referrals to other staff members, physicians, dentists and community agencies in efforts to obtain optimal care for the students.
    

Qualifications:

1.  Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
2. Ability to function effectively as a member of the school staff.
3. Such other requirements as the Board may establish.         

Salary: 

Placement on substitute nurse pay scale, starting at $27.75 per hour. No benefits for substitutes.
