Job Summary
The ProAVL Technical Lead is responsible for control system programming, ProAVL systems commissioning, and technical system design solutions in the field. The Technical Lead is the primary technical resource during a project for answering questions of connectivity and functionality of a ProAVL system.

  • Answer questions about the ProAVL systems, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Design and develop ProAVL solutions to meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Train and mentor new programmers and commissioning agents, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for system design and installation planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing expert advice and guidance to clients and team members.
  • Stay current with the latest ProAVL technologies, industry trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

 

Competencies

  •  Intermediate-level competency with general computer and Microsoft systems and applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in all situations and at all levels, and listens and seeks clarification.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may have one or more direct reports.

 

Required Education and Experience
The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  • Four or more years of experience in a technical lead installation and support role with strong knowledge of AVL installation standards and systems
  • Class C (passenger vehicle) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Four or more years of experience with control system programming. 
  • Four or more years of experience with Audio DSP commissioning.
  • Four or more years of experience with TCP/IP, IR, and RS-232 command programming.
  • CTS-I required within one year of employment.

 

Preferred Education and Experience
The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity.

  •  Industry certifications, such as InfoComm CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I. InfoComm CTS required within one year of employment.
  • Experience with networked AV solutions and related protocols, e.g., Dante, AVB, etc.
  • Familiarity with control system programming, e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX, etc.

 

Additional Eligibility Requirements
Upon offer of employment, selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and Federal Criminal History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record, Motor Vehicle Record, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification background checks at Pierson’s expense to determine if the candidate has the clearances required to work in designated facilities.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an hourly overtime-eligible position. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours based on project assignments. Some overtime is possible with management approval.


Physical Work Type
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


Travel
Greater than 75%. Travel is primarily throughout the U.S. East Coast. Out-of-the-area and overnight travel is required. Travel in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate.


Reports To
This position reports to the Director of Sales (Pierson's ProAVL expert).
